The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences
The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, Inc., known variously as The Recording Academy or NARAS, is a U.S. organization of musicians, producers, recording engineers and other recording professionals dedicated to improving the quality of life and cultural condition for music and its makers.
The Recording Academy, which began in 1957, is famous for its Grammy Awards. In 1997, the Recording Academy launched The Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, Inc., which produces the Latin Grammy Awards.
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences was founded in 1946; just one month after network television was born. It is a nonprofit organization devoted to the advancement of telecommunication arts and sciences and to fostering creative leadership in the telecommunication industry.
The Television Academy, the only major organization devoted to the television and broadband screen entertainment industry, is made up of more than 15,000 members, representing 28 professional peer groups, including performers, directors, producers, art directors and various other artisans, technicians and executives.
The Beverly Hills Bar Association
The Beverly Hills Bar Association, a nationally recognized major metropolitan bar association based in Beverly Hills, serves the 15,000 + lawyers who live or work on the Westside of Los Angeles County. With over 3,600 members, it is the largest voluntary bar association in California that is not a county bar association. Our mission is to serve our members, to lead our profession and to advocate for justice in our community.
BHBA Entertainment Law Section
This section, the largest in the nation, focuses on business and legal issues pertinent to the entertainment industry, including film, television, and music law. Because the section focuses on the various aspects of a particular industry, it overlaps with a number of other sections including litigation, business, and intellectual property.
The National Assoc. of Record Industry Professionals
The National Association of Record Industry Professionals promotes education, career advancement and good will among record executives.
With an emphasis on becoming better informed and more effective, NARIP offers professional development opportunities, educational programs and seminars, the opportunity to meet and interact with peers, a job bank, a member resume database for employers, a mentor network, a newsletter and other services.
